Contact lenses

More than 100 Irish practitioners gathered for the recent CIBA Vision Power of One meetings.

It was noted that published studies showed compliance was significantly better with one-month and daily disposable contact lens wear when compared with two-weekly wear.

'These are powerful messages for practitioners. The association between compliance and business growth is a particularly pertinent message for Irish practitioners given the current economic climate,' explained CIBA Vision regional sales manager Andrew Long.

Attendees learnt that in one study more than half of fortnightly contact lens users wear their lenses significantly longer than the time recommended.
