Glasses Direct has chosen Orbis, the charity dedicated to blindness prevention in developing countries, as its first charity partner.
The company will donate £1 for each pair of frames sold from its new 'Colours' range. Designed exclusively for Glassesdirect, the acetate frames form a range of five styles in six colour options.
Glassesdirect founder James Murray Wells also has plans to visit an eye care project in Ethiopia. 'We have great hopes for the relationship with Orbis and through that charity we hope that we will go on to offer support to other countries as well as Ethiopia,' he said. Murray Wells is pictured with Wondu Alemayehu, country director for Orbis in Ethiopia.
