The worldwide contact lens market is estimated at $6.1bn, with the global market estimated to reach $11.7bn by 2015 (Global Industry Analysts). Data from research group Robert W Baird & Co estimated that worldwide and US contact lens market share were similar to last year with Johnson & Johnson out in front at 44 per cent, CIBA Vision at 22 per cent, CooperVision at 16 per cent and Bausch+Lomb at 14 per cent.
