Johnson & Johnson reported an increase in worldwide sales for its Vision Care segment of 10.9 per cent, or 4.1 per cent excluding the effect of currency, to $664m during the first quarter of 2010 from $599m in 2009.

Johnson & Johnson reported an increase in worldwide sales for its Vision Care segment of 10.9 per cent, or 4.1 per cent excluding the effect of currency, to $664m during the first quarter of 2010 from $599m in 2009.

International J&J Vision Care sales increased 13.7 per cent, or 6.8 per cent, excluding the currency effect to $415m for the quarter, while US Vision Care sales increased 6.4 per cent to $249m.

However, overall operational sales for the entire company declined 0.1 per cent at constant exchange rates, although excluding the impact of currency it increased 4 per cent to $15.6bn.
