GOC appoints director of regulatory operations

Carole Auchterlonie has been appointed director of regulatory operations by the GOC on a permanent basis as well as joining its senior management team.

Leonie Milliner, chief executive at the GOC, said Auchterlonie brought a wealth of regulatory and complaints resolution experience to the role, as well as stability while in the role on an interim basis.

Auchterlonie will lead the GOC’s largest directorate, which incorporated fitness to practise, including triage, investigations, interim orders, case progression and hearings, as well as the GOC’s in-house legal team.

‘I am delighted to be joining the GOC on a permanent basis and look forward to continuing to work with staff, committees, members, and other stakeholders to uphold the highest standards in the optical professions and continue the GOC’s overarching mission to protect the public,’ Auchterlonie said.
