GOC appoints Frank Munro

​Frank Munro has been appointed as the new Scottish registrant Council member

Frank Munro has been appointed as the new Scottish registrant Council member by the General Optical Council (GOC).

Munro joined as a practising optometrist in Glasgow and Lanarkshire and held an interest in optometric service development, chronic eye disease and myopia control among other fields.

The new appointment previously held roles in professional and government bodies, including chair of the UK optometric therapeutic steering group, president of the College of Optometrists and chair of Optometry Scotland.

GOC chair of council, Dr Anne Wright, said: ‘Frank has a wealth of skills and experience in the optical industry which will be extremely valuable and insightful as we progress various strategic projects.

‘I look forward to working with him to continue our overarching mission to protect the public.’
