GOC appoints new members to hearings panel

GOC has revealed that four new members are to join its fitness to practise hearings panel

The General Optical Council (GOC) has revealed that four new members are to join its fitness to practise hearings panel.

The new members are Dr Amit Jinahhai, optometrist and senior lecturer at the University of Manchester; Julia Wortley, a former deputy chief constable and programme director for the 7 Force Strategic Collaboration programme; Kathryn King, chief ombudsman for England and Wales and Caroline Corby, non-executive director of the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service and former GOC Investigations Committee chair.

Lisa Davis, GOC’s director of fitness to practise, said: ‘We are pleased to welcome these new members to the committee as they each bring valuable skills and insight from their diverse experiences.’
