Optometrist Deepali Modha and dispensing optician Jamie Douglas have been appointed by the General Optical Council as council associates.
Associates ensure a diverse range of experiences and perspectives are included at council meetings and the audit, risk and finance committee.
Hertfordshire-based Modha is a clinical performance consultant at Specsavers and previously sat on the councils at the Association of Optometrists and College of Optometrists.
Douglas is based in Somerset and began his optical career as a laboratory technician, then team leader and optical assistant before completing his ophthalmic dispensing qualification in 2022.
