
New questions have been added to the annual GOC Workforce and Perceptions Survey 2025 to learn more about registrants’ work experiences, job satisfaction, working conditions and views of the GOC.
This year’s online independent survey, which last year received responses from 4,575 optometrists, dispensing opticians and students, would seek feedback on registration fees, testing times, and commercial pressures.
Steve Brooker, GOC director of regulatory strategy, said that feedback from fully qualified registrants and students was important to influence future policy.
'Each year, we learn more about registrants’ experiences which help inform our work. Last year’s findings revealed a link between registrants experiencing bullying, harassment, discrimination, and abuse and their ability to deliver safe patient care,' he said.
