GOC publishes CPD guides

Guides introduced CPD record review & audit to qualified members & providers

Continuing professional development (CPD) guides for registrants and education providers have been published by the General Optical Council.

The guides introduced CPD record review and provider audit to fully qualified registrants and CPD providers, respectively, and helped them understand what is involved.

Registrants can make use of the record review to ensure they are keeping good quality records of CPD they have completed, the GOC said.

It added that the provider audit made sure the education delivered to registrants was of good quality and met the standards for providers.

The guides included information about why and when reviews and audits take place and how registrants and providers would know if they have been selected.
