General Optical Council registrants can now apply for annual retention on the regulator’s registers for the year beginning April 1 2016

General Optical Council registrants can now apply for annual retention on the regulator’s registers for the year beginning April 1 2016.

Applications must be submitted by March 15 along with the required fee, which for OOs, DOs, and optical businesses is £320.

Practitioners qualifying for the GOC’s low income fee of £220 must apply by February 1 by completing an application form on the GOC website before completing their retention application online.

Registrants who miss the deadline will face a £20 late application fee and those who have still not renewed their registration by March 31 may be removed from the registers after April 1.
