GOC suspends London optometrist from its register for six months

The GOC has suspended an optometrist from London from its register for six months.

A Fitness to Practise Committee found Kiran Jeerh’s fitness to practise impaired by a reason of misconduct due to a falsified application for GOC registration.

The Committee was chaired by Ian Crookall, who said: ‘The registrant’s dishonesty was directed at her regulator, and it was done to enable her to commence employment as soon as possible. The nature of the registrant’s misconduct and dishonesty undermined the vetting procedures of the GOC, procedures designed to protect the public and the public’s confidence in the profession; and the registrant’s actions were a serious departure from the standards of conduct and behaviour expected of her.’
