Optometrists and dispensing opticians visiting Optrafair at the NEC (April 4-6) will have an opportunity to attend CET surgery sessions organised by the General Optical Council.

The CET sessions have been organised as a reminder to practitioners that the current CET cycle ends on December 31 2009. To date, 48 per cent of registrants have already passed their general points requirements, according to the GOC.

Council staff will be on hand to offer guidance and advice on meeting CET requirements.

'As the clock is ticking, this is a valuable opportunity for practitioners to resolve any queries they have about their CET requirements, or find out more about any aspect of the scheme,' said Jo Glover, CET manager at the GOC.
