Concept Eyewear has launched a new ophthalmic frame range from the Gola Classics brand.

‘Born of humble beginnings in a small workshop in Leicester, England in 1905, Gola has a long established history of producing merchandise for all kinds of sports,’ said a spokesperson for Concept Eyewear. ‘During the brand’s heyday of the 60s and 70s, Gola was allied to some of the biggest sports stars of the era including the likes of Bill Shankly, David Bedford and Geoff Capes.

‘Today, Gola Classics remains true to its roots by offering authentic styles that combine Gola’s unprecedented history with today’s most sought-after trends.’

The 10-strong collection for men and women features designs strongly influenced by eyewear shapes of the 1970s, with modern updates of the aviator and Wayfarer silhouettes.

Women’s style Gola 06 features layered acetate in a subtle rectangular silhouette. The shape features gently upswept brows to add femininity. Men’s style Gola 03 is similar in appearance but features subtle pin holes which show off the layered acetate.
