The company also recently held a charity ball at the Glasgow Hilton, and plans other fundraising activity throughout 2001. Lenstec assists Chernobyl charity - Caerphilly-based prescription house Lenstec recently held its annual golf day at Wenvoe Castle Golf Club, which saw 63 golfers compete for the Lenstec cup. The individual prize went to optometrist Adrian Springett, with the team prize picked up by Ted Arbuthnot, Tony Kear and Mervyn McCrea. A collection was made at the evening dinner and matched by the company, raising &\#163;1,600 for local charity Chernobyl Children Cancer Care Cardiff, which brings terminally ill children to the UK. Managing director Nigel Castle presented a cheque to trustee Kay Hailes, with the Olympian and Welsh Rugby International Nigel Walker a guest at the event.
