Gosport opticians sponsors cyclist's Portsmouth to Pompeii charity ride

Gosport opticians Phillips & Edgworth has supported local fundraiser Keith Harris as he prepares to cycle from Portsmouth to Pompeii in aid of The Rowans Hospice.

Dispensing optician Barbara Kemp gave Harris a pair of specialist sports sunglasses for the 2,000km ‘Pompey to Pompeii’ solo ride, which will take him through France, over the Alps, into Switzerland and down through Italy.

‘It is fantastic to be supported by the community and I am thrilled to have received this gift from Phillips & Edgworth, which will be a great asset to my challenge. The Rowans Hospice is a fantastic local charity and as the trip is entirely self-funded, every penny raised will go to helping people in need,’ said Harris.
