Grants of £2m awarded by Fight for Sight to combat eye disease

Research charity Fight for Sight has awarded £2m for 10 project grants to fund posts and research into a range of eye diseases.

Work being funded includes, a clinical fellowship, a partnership grant and an early career investigator award for research into AMD, inherited retinal diseases, glaucoma, Bechet’s disease, bacterial keratitis, diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity.

Ten grants were awarded from 29 applications with recipients based in universities and institutions across the UK including the  Universities of Liverpool,  Manchester, Cambridge, Birmingham,  and  Glasgow plus UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and UCL Institute of Child Health.
