Haag-Streit's DRS camera has been passed by the National Screening Committee as recommended for use within the National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy.

The automatic retinal camera has a stereo mode with 3D viewer and automatic, or manual, acquisition of images of the posterior and anterior segment, providing alignment through the live image. It has new functionality to restore data from back-ups and transfer images securely to the web, improved image quality and new printing formats.

Dean Johnson, managing director Haag-Streit UK, said: 'The new enhanced features, and the fact that it is recommended in the National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy, will make the product even more attractive to optometrists, especially within the NHS.'
