Haag-Streit UK recently lent a BQ900 LED slit lamp to the BBC television series Casualty, having been approached by the show's prop buyer for the loan of the instrument.
It was used in a scene involving actor Oliver Coleman who plays regular character Tom Kent, checking the eyes of guest actress Emmy Rose for grit, having fallen over. HS-UK service engineer Martin Callaway was on hand to set the instrument up and to ensure the on-screen character was correctly using the slit lamp.
'Using companies like Haag-Streit UK is invaluable to achieving our aim of producing high quality, cutting edge drama,' said Owain Williams, BBC Casualty series designer. The episode 'When Love Breaks Down' was filmed at the new BBC studios in Cardiff and will be shown on November 3.
