Manufacturer and distributor of optometry and ophthalmic equipment, Haag-Streit UK, has launched the ‘Hess Test Lite’ app.
The app offers the ability for recording and documenting the function and co-ordination of the extra-ocular muscles in the standard Hess Chart notation. Using the Apple iPad, Hess Screen (and Lees Screen) results can be documented electronically within the Hess Test application, enabling the records to be stored and retrieved.
The app has been fully-validated for both reliability and repeatability, said Haag-Streit UK. It allows the user to save all the patient data, along with relevant clinician information, and boasts features such as a full 25-point Hess Screen documenting notation and an ’auto-connect’ function. This allows the user to auto-connect the response points, reducing the time needed for analysis.
Also included in the software is an integrated patient test results database and patient retrieval function, allowing a patients historical results to be reviewed and shared between interdisciplinary teams.
Sam Laidlaw, Haag-Streit UK product manager, said : ‘The Hess Chart is an essential tool in diagnosing and monitoring anomalies of the extra-ocular muscles. This innovative app enables customers to meet the increasing need to create electronic patient records, using software which can easily be combined into their daily clinical practice. The app also provides HS-UK with an excellent platform to develop further software solutions for the HS-UK product portfolio.’
