Hakim fundraiser racks up step count

Hakim Group has set out on a month-long fundraising walk to raise awareness about men’s mental health in support of Shine Coaching.

Team members for the company’s headquarters will collectively cover 500 miles in November and funds raised will support the charity’s volunteers in Lancashire.

Hakim Group and Shine Coaching united on November 16 to walk 4k around a local reservoir in Blackburn to top up their step count.

Nick Lowe, head of communications and project management at Hakim Group, said: ‘We believe in the power of community and the impact it can have on mental health.

'By walking together and raising funds, we aim to bring communities closer and foster open conversations about men's mental health. The collaboration with Shine Coaching allows us to make a meaningful contribution to a cause that is often overlooked.’

Shine Coaching provides guidance through a free, tailored programme with dedicated coaches to address the needs of each individual, as well as out-of-session support.

Lian Frankland, co-founder at Shine Coaching, said: ‘Mental health is a critical aspect of overall wellbeing and our collaboration aims to make a positive difference in the lives of men in Lancashire.’
