Hakim hosts first CPD event in Ireland

A CPD-accredited event was held in Ireland for the first time by the Hakim Group on October 10 at the Glasson Lakehouse in Athlone.

Optometrists who are part of the Hakim Group as well as those from independents attended speaker sessions and workshops about clinical, commercial and communication topics.

Kath Truman, learning and development manager at the Hakim Group, presented on effective communication and how to manage patient concerns. Mairead Heffernan, head of training and education for UK & Ireland at the Hakim Group, hosted a session on the ocular surface, while Mark Chatham, practice buddy at Hakim Group, spoke about the importance of contact lenses.
