
Independent practices have provided patients with the opportunity to purchase frames online during lockdown because of support provided by the Hakim Group.
Webpages on each of the group’s practices were introduced at the start of the pandemic and were designed for those who needed emergency eyewear but were unable to leave their homes.
Frames are delivered after a video call from a practice team member, who provides a consultation to discuss their prescription and any other special requirements they have.
Alison Harwood, co-owner of Optika Opticians, who joined the Hakim Group in January, said: ‘The e-commerce page on our website has helped us not only guarantee our patients were able to have the glasses they needed at a crucial time, it also provided some social interaction for some of our most vulnerable patients.’
