Bausch+Lomb has extended its British contact lens portfolio with the release of the new PureVision 2 High Definition for Astigmatism. The manufacturer claimed the lenses, an extension of the PureVision HD range, are the only SiH lenses for astigmatism that control spherical aberration in both sphere and cylinder medians across the power range.

Designed to offer patients stability, clarity and comfort, the new lenses incorporate Auto Align Design - a stabilising system that uses optimised ballast for stability. The design of the ballast features a combination of prism and peri ballasting to increase stability. The large lens diameter was claimed to provide a greater area for effective ballasting and improved centration for increased visual acuity and stable vision throughout the day.
