The GOC's fitness to practise committee will resume a substantive hearing for David Agyeman, a registered DO, who allegedly fitted contact lenses to 14 patients when he was not qualified to do so.

The GOC's fitness to practise committee will resume a substantive hearing for David Agyeman, a registered DO, who allegedly fitted contact lenses to 14 patients when he was not qualified to do so.

The hearing which takes place on January 8 2008 will conduct an inquiry based upon the allegation submitted by the Council to determine whether the fitness to practise of Agyeman is impaired by virtue of the provisions contained in section 13D(2) of the Opticians Act 1989.

It is alleged that the DO saw the patients between July 6 2005 and August 31 2005 on the various dates.
