Heidelberg donates OCT to Partially Sighted Society

Heidelberg Engineering donated a Spectralis optical coherence tomography (OCT) device to The Partially Sighted Society’s optometry clinic.

Tosh Vadhia, managing director at Heidelberg, visited Anita Plant, CEO of the charity, and saw how the equipment could improve the services.

‘With patients arriving with little or no history or records and having to piece together their visual impairment condition, it soon became apparent that the Spectralis would alter their clinical workflow,’ Vadhia said.

Plant added that having OCT would enable the service to take detailed pictures that helped diagnose and better understand the complex issues that affect people who visit for help.
