Heidelberg OCT lecture now available to view

A presentation on OCT hybrid angiography and its attributes given by Professor Giovanni Staurenghi of the University of Milan at Heidelberg Engineering’s Masterclass in May is now available to view online.

The video addresses the role of OCT angiography in the clinical decision making process as part of a multi-modality imaging approach for patient investigation and diagnosis. It looks at specific clinical applications of OCT angiography through case studies and the challenges image artefacts and incorrect retinal layer segmentation present during interpretation.

‘I think discussing its advantages and pitfalls is an important and honest way to approach this new angiography and we have shown that it is advisable to exercise caution when using new technology that we do not necessarily fully understand yet,’ said Professor Staurenghi.
