Heidelberg offers OCT academy training

Emotions and educational excellence ran high in Hemel Hempstead last week as OCT specialist Heidelberg Engineering staged the official opening of its new headquarters and home of its academy.

Local dignitaries, ophthalmologists, optometrists and international guests were joined by Heidelberg staff, family and friends to celebrate the occasion. Heidelberg managing director Christoph Schoess charted the company’s growth from a supplier of scanning laser ophthalmoscopy to universities through to its emergence as a provider of precision OCT and associated analytical software to hospitals and optical practices.

He thanked UK general manager Krysten Williams and her team for their hard work in building up Heidelberg UK to help professionals provide better care. ‘The reason we have this academy is so our equipment can be used to the best of its ability,’ he added.
