Its Retail Sales Monitor claimed that July's trading for the UK's retailers was the worst in 10 years, with consumers remaining cautious.
'July was much worse than June,' said a spokesman, 'with retail sales falling 1.9 per cent on a like-for-like basis compared to a year ago.
