Prescription house Horizon Optical of Dunstable, which celebrated 40 years of trading in February 2012, recently entertained 60 guests at an anniversary dinner and party at the Holiday Inn Markyate in Hertfordshire.
This followed an event in April to thank staff for their hard work and dedication over the 40 years, both of which featured anniversary cakes made by Horizon surfacing technician Angela Newman.Guests to the latest event included John Conway, Richard Hollings, Vibeke Anderson and Tim Precious, representing Seiko, Lindberg and Essilor.
A special presentation of champagne was made to Jimmy Richards, who has practices in Watford and Wells next to Sea and was Horizon's first customer in 1972, when the company started out in a disused stable in Watford. He is still a customer today. There was also a free prize draw for watches, champagne and vouchers.
