Hoya Corporation's consolidated first half results ending September 30 have revealed that Vision Care division sales rose 12.8 per cent to ¥56.9bn (£254m) compared to the first half of 2005.
The company attributed growth to the promotion of new progressive lenses, high-index lenses and other products in Europe, Asia, Europe and North America.
In the Health Care Division, manufacturing contact lenses and retailing, sales increased 14.4 per cent to ¥20.1bn (£90m) by 'reinforcing the consulting strategy of bifocal lenses and other value added products'.
Consolidated net sales for the corporation as a whole increased 15 per cent from ¥166.7bn (£745m) in the first half of 2005 to ¥191.6bn (£856m).
