In a bid to raise £250,000 for charity 27-year-old optometrist Cameron Hudson will be attempting an arduous 700-mile ski journey later this year to the South Pole.

hudsonIn a bid to raise £250,000 for charity 27-year-old optometrist Cameron Hudson will be attempting an arduous 700-mile ski journey later this year to the South Pole.

Hudson is taking on this Antarctic adventure to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, the International Glaucoma Association and the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

But the challenge doesn't stop there. He also aims to make British Polar history by carrying out pioneering research into the effects of 24-hour daylight during the Polar summer on vision, which may help in the development of new treatments for several common visual disorders.
