Now in its third year, the 2002 event, which includes 16 lectures and eight workshops, will take place at GlasgowÕs Hilton Hotel.
In addition, following the cancellation of Optrafashion Ð which was the only major UK optics fair scheduled for 2002 Ð its exhibition will give attendees an early opportunity to visit see optical companies this year.
Eyecare 3000 is organised by Scottish Continuing Optometric Training (SCOT), and exhibitors include equipment supplier Haag-Streit, lens and frame manufacturer Rodenstock, and sponsor of the CET programme, one-day contact lens supplier Provis.
Dr Scott Mackie, course organiser for SCOT, said: ÔWe are very pleased that Provis-daysoft uv is giving the SCOT Eyecare 3000 Conference this support for the CET programme.
ÔIt is also appropriate that Provis Ð a Scottish company Ð has additionally sponsored the banquet and ceilidh on Burns weekend to support this social feature of the conference.Õ
Malcolm Louch, director professional services at Provis, said: ÔWe believe that it is important for companies such as Provis to be involved in this type of event to strengthen the links between the profession and suppliers.Õ
The conferenceÕs lectures include the topics: ÔEnvironmentally induced myopiaÕ, ÔCommunication in practice: Can we do better?Õ and ÔHow to spot a malingererÕ. The course has been accredited and 15 CET credits are available.
