​Grafton Optical launches I-Pen tear film osmolarity system

Grafton Optical has launched the I-Pen tear film osmolarity system by I-Med Pharma. The I-Pen is a hand-held, point-of-care, solid state electronic diagnostic device, which can detect and measure the elevated tear film osmolarity levels associated with dry eye disease. Practices are now diversifying to include services for the diagnosis, treatment and management of dry eye, bringing significant benefits both in terms of patient care and practice revenue.

Features of the I-Pen include a quantitative measurement device, affordable point-of-care test, ease of use and the presence of a single-use sensor.

The product has been designed for use in practice as a screening device and for pre and post-surgical patients. Furthermore, the I-Pen is able to monitor the progress of dry eye treatment therapies.
