
A global campaign to raise awareness of the socio-economic importance of eye health has been launched by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).
The Love Your Eyes 2022 campaign called on governments to support global eye health and educate the public about eye health’s importance.
Caroline Casey, president of the IAPB, said: ‘This is an exciting opportunity to change the lives of over a billion people on this planet in the next decade. It is an ambitious campaign, but if we truly want the world to be a better place we must act now.’
Programmes and initiatives that address poor vision at a local level will be highlighted by the Love Your Eyes campaign to showcase how investment can improve access to eye care.
