IAPB launches 2023 World Sight Day photo comp

A World Sight Day photo competition has been launched by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) that aligns with its ‘Love Your Eyes at Work’ 2023 campaign theme.

Simon Darvill, director of communications, campaigns & events at IAPB, said: ‘Our judges panel represents an impressive range of expertise and experience, individuals at the forefront of championing inclusion and equality, and those who stand for professional excellence.

‘The competition is fun, but we know the importance of the images submitted. Solving universal eye health is within our grasp and sharing images is an important piece of generating awareness that reaches leaders and decision-makers. We all have stories to share, and we cannot wait to see yours.’

Six judges have been appointed, including last year’s Professional Photo of the Year winner and optometrist Kwame Yeboah; IAPB president Caroline Casey; professional photographer, Imraan Gallo; scientist and professional photgrapher Aníbal Bueno, senior VP and editorial director of Vision Monday at Jobson Publishing; and Professor Ian Pearce, from St Paul's Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

Submissions can be made at shorturl.at/pHTWZ until October 20, 2023 and prizes include $1,000 and $750 cash prizes.
