Improved glaucoma identification

Heidelberg releases update to its Glaucoma Module Premium Edition software

The maker of the multimodal ophthalmic imaging platform Spectralis, Heidelberg Engineering, has released an update to its Glaucoma Module Premium Edition software.

Users of the platform that have installed the new release are now able to utilise a macular reference database with the addition of thickness deviation maps for retina, retinal nerve fibre, ganglion cell and inner plexiform layers.

New capabilities packaged with this update include improved thickness deviation maps, which highlight whether thickness layers of each retinal layer are within the normal limits via comparison to a reference database, and a perceptually uniform colour scale that makes changes in thickness easier to identify with the human eye.
