Independent supports local homeless charity

Haine & Smith Opticians opened a pop-up eye clinic at Unity House in Chippenham

Haine & Smith Opticians opened a pop up eye clinic at Unity House in Chippenham on December 7 to provide eye examinations and spectacles to people experiencing homelessness.

The independent optical practice previously hosted clinics in Chippenham and Salisbury in support of its partner charity Alabaré, which provided free support across Wiltshire.

Anna Lewin, clinical lead optometrist at Haine & Smith, said: ‘At our first clinics we were a little unsure how many patients would come to see us, but our service has been really well received. We returned to Unity House in Chippenham and helped as many people as we could. It’s wonderful to be able to make a real difference to a patient's quality of life.’
