Independent wins Global Healthcare & Pharma award

Broxbourne-based E&G Opticians has been named ‘Independent Optician of the Year’ at the Global Healthcare & Pharma awards.

E&G Opticians on Station Road has been at the heart of the Broxbourne community since 1987.

Shabnam Fazl, a dispensing optician with 16 years’ experience, stepped in as director of the Hakim Group practice a year ago following the retirement of the previous owner.

Working alongside her two colleagues, Avi and Louise, Fazl introduced a number of improvements, including a total refurbishment to modernise the interior of the practice.

The awards judges selected the independent after considering the practice’s history, customer service, Google reviews and social media presence.
