Independents Day on tour

Independents Day began its UK tour in Wembley, north London this week where delegates found out more about balancing their eye care and eye wear offerings.

Having moved from a single venue format, organisers Proven Track Record and National Eyecare Group move onto venues in Coventry and Bolton next week.

A keynote address by Andy Clark, optometrist and founder of consultancy Practice Building, explained how practices can identify their ‘archetypes’ and patient ‘avatars’.

This was followed by presentations from two independents who had successfully implemented the strategy before Clark came back on stage for a panel discussion.

PTR managing director Nick Atkins welcomed feedback on the new show format, which ran into the evening. 'It would be great if we could get together with Sightcare and the AIO and make one big event,' he added.
