Independents upbeat at NEG conference

Around 100 delegates were in attendance for the National Eyecare Group’s annual conference and exhibition in Nottingham last week

Around 100 delegates were in attendance for the National Eyecare Group’s annual conference and exhibition in Nottingham last week.

Organisers put 9 CET points on offer over a day and a half, covering subjects from OCT and glaucoma to lens coating and HR practice.

Highlights included a lecture by Bill Harvey (pictured) called ‘Up the front – an interactive quiz about anterior and adnexal lesions’ and Debbie Gigg of the SMC on ‘How good HR practise can improve your practice’.

Phil Mullins, director of business development at NEG, said: ‘This is the fifth annual conference and we are always delighted to see the response we receive from delegates, not only for the CET and the exhibition but the interaction with their fellow independent opticians from across the UK.
