Industry prepares for net zero targets

NHS net zero targets have been set

Optical practices and suppliers been urged by the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA) to familiarise themselves with the NHS’ net zero targets.

Ben Calder-Travis, NHS net zero and sustainability project manager, outlined the required targets A during a supplier webinar held in February.

He said all optical businesses that supplied the NHS needed to prepare for the introduction of accountability for net zero targets.

The initial call was for businesses bidding for new contracts in excess of £5m per annum from April 2023 but the threshold will be reduced and all NHS suppliers will be publicly required to report targets by 2027.
