Doctorates have been awarded to two Institute of Optometry students.
Adrian Chorley and Peter Campbell have earned the qualifications, described as equivalent to a PhD but designed to be more accessible to practising optometrists.
Dr Chorley was awarded a PhD for extensive research on ocular exposure to non-ionising radiation in professional pilots.
Professor Bruce Evans, who with Dr Martin Benwell of London South Bank University (LSBU) co-supervised the work, said: ‘Adrian has exceeded expectations at every stage of the doctoral process. His ground-breaking research has already produced three papers and I am sure that several more will follow as this research will, in my view, become a definitive work on this topic.’
