New artificial intelligence (AI) software has been developed that matches intraocular lenses (IOL) with data gathered from patients’ visual behaviour.
Switzerland-based Vivior has developed its Visual Behaviour Monitor software to analyse neural networks and behaviour to create a visual profile which is then paired with the most suitable IOL used in cataract and refractive surgery.
Professor Jim Schwiegerling, of the University of Arizona and member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Vivior, said: ‘With this software, Vivior can optimise the selection process of IOLs and support the surgeon to achieve optimal outcomes for the patient.’
The company is also working on software to match behaviour with optimised ophthalmic lenses.
