Giant UK store groups will share some of their retail technology secrets in six weeks' time.
For the IT departments of the multiples, and some of Britain's larger optical chains, the Retail Solutions 2005 show promises an insight on how other high street names have used technology to improve their businesses.
Jo Humphries, Dixons business programme manager, will reveal how the electrical brand managed a complex EPOS solution on time and to
budget.
B&Q's Steve Goodburn, director operations, and Colin MacLeod, project manager, will talk about the DIY store's compliance management to produce 'measurable improvements to store productivity and efficiency'.
Jim Bendon, IT director, Majestic Wine Warehouse, will show how the group moved its 115 stores and head office processes to an internet protocol to cut costs and time spent by staff in stores accessing information. And Tesco's Karen Shelsher (project manager, service productivity department) will show the benefits gained from installing a scheduling system.
The Retail Solutions event will be held at the NEC, Birmingham from June 7-9.
