It's easy online

Regulation

The General Optical Council has reported an increase in the percentage of registrants who met the March 15 retention deadline, up from 90.4 per cent last year to 93.8 per cent.

It pointed out that the new MyGOC online system enabled registrants to complete their retention in just a few minutes, with around 95 per cent of the applicants choosing this system over postal application.

Head of registration Philip Hallam said: 'We've had a lot of good feedback about the new online system and it's really encouraging to see that it's making retention easier for registrants.'

He added that the system would be rolled out to students and businesses over the coming year.
