Jasper Conran's first foray into eyewear fashion, an exclusive 36 optical frame collection for Specsavers, was officially launched at his upmarket flagship store on Sackville Street in London on Tuesday.
Renowned for his association with Debenhams as well as his J line womenswear collection and fragrances, the British designer's work also includes four lines of Waterford crystal. Marketed under the Jasper Conran brand, his eyewear collection is exclusive to Specsavers and is described by Conran himself as possessing 'a strong sophisticated look that is readily accessible to everyone'.
Conran said that his venture into optical design was always forthcoming since 'eyewear is part of fashion'.
