Johnson & Johnson Vision Care has announced plans to add 12 new e-learning modules to its Eye Education mobile app.
The modules would make it easier to accrue CET points on the go, the company said. Eight will launch by the end of 2015 with the remainder to be rolled out next year.
The new courses include Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) contact lens fitting, and five modules on professional conduct. Both take the form of 10-minute videos and each module offers one interactive CET point.
The J&J app has been downloaded approximately 3,500 times.
Marcella McParland, Johnson & Johnson vision care director, professional affairs UK & Ireland said: ‘In 2014 alone, the Eye Education App helped users build up a total of 6,499 CET points. What’s more, two-thirds of them accessed it from their smartphone, underlining a growing desire among practitioners to complete training at a time and place that is convenient to them.
