Vision Express has opened a Joint Ventures optical store in Halifax, West Yorkshire - its 50th site since the scheme was launched in 1995.
The outlet, officially opened by Oliver Marns of the Halifax Blue Sox, is headed by optometrist Duncan Mitchell, who is a partner with his wife, Suzanne. The Joint Ventures scheme provides help in procuring loans and leases, and in the preparation of financial statements. Other benefits include marketing advice and operation support. 'Suzanne and I have wanted to start our own practice in Halifax for some time, but we were cautious about the financial risks involved,' says Mr Mitchell. 'This scheme allows us to achieve our goals.'
