EastEnders actor June Brown has urged members of the public to have regular eye tests in support of a charity campaign.
More than a quarter of British adults do not follow the recommended eye test every two years, according to research conducted by YouGov for Fight for Sight. Almost three-quarters, 74%, said it was because they could not afford to.
Brown said: ‘I would urge everyone to have their eyes tested regularly as this will pick up on the early signs of eye conditions like this as well as age-related macular degeneration or glaucoma – so that people can get treatment where available as early as possible.’
